Joe Wilson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 2nd district since 2001, recently expressed his concerns on social media regarding international issues involving China and Tunisia. Known for his strong stance on foreign policy, Wilson has been vocal about what he perceives as threats to freedom and security.
On March 6, 2025, Joe Wilson tweeted about the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communist Party. He stated that Americans should be aware of this organization, describing it as "founded on dismantling freedom" and active in the United States. He advocated for sanctions against the United Front and expressed confidence that former President Trump would address this issue: "Americans should know about the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communist Party. It is a Chinese organization founded on dismantling freedom and is active in our country. It’s time to sanction the United Front. Trump will fix it."
Later that day, Wilson commented on Tunisia's actions against its citizens meeting with U.S. diplomats. On March 6, 2025, he criticized these charges as unacceptable: "Tunisia is now charging citizens for the so-called crime of meeting with our US diplomats. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Free Tunisia"
As Co-Chair of the UK Caucus, Wilson also addressed developments in Britain regarding a new Chinese embassy project on March 6, 2025. He expressed disappointment over Britain's decision to approve what he referred to as a "Chinese MEGAEMBASSY," which he fears could serve as a center for espionage: "As the Co-Chair of the UK Caucus, I am deeply disappointed to hear that our British friends are green lighting the Chinese MEGAEMBASSY in their country which will just be a center for spying and secret police. I urge our British friends to stop this INSANE project!"
