On February 22, 2025, Joe Wilson tweeted about the European Union's potential actions regarding Russian assets: "EU confiscating frozen Russian $300 billion would show STRENGTH and RESOLVE. The more European allies step up, the easier it will be for President Trump to end the war responsibly with FULL land swap Art of the Deal."

Later that day, he commented on Russia's involvement in global terrorism: "War Criminal Putin is king of terrorism around the world. Russia arms Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis.
