Joe Wilson, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 2nd district, has recently commented on various geopolitical issues through his social media account. Joe Wilson, initially assuming office in place of Floyd Spence in 2001, offered insights on current international conflicts in a series of tweets on April 13 and 14, 2025.

On April 13, Wilson commented on the Russian missile strike reportedly targeting families attending Palm Sunday services in Sumy. In a detailed expression of outrage, Wilson stated that "Russia targeted and conducted a missile strike against families attending Palm Sunday services in Sumy." He further characterized Russian President Vladimir Putin and associated figures as responsible for the incident, declaring, "War criminal Putin and his murderers killed 32 just for going to church while Ukrainian. Putin kills Christians. He will stop when he is defeated."

Continuing on April 14, Wilson called for increased support for Ukraine by advocating for military assistance from Germany. He succinctly urged, "Send Taurus to Ukraine. Grateful for Germany!" highlighting his support for Germany's actions.

Further expanding his geopolitical commentary on the same day, Wilson made a clear call regarding the situation in Iraq, stating, "Free Iraq from Iran".

Joe Wilson has been a consistent voice in international policy discussions, drawing upon his extensive political career, including serving in the South Carolina Senate from 1985 to 2001, in addition to his tenure in Congress. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1947 and now resides in Springdale. His academic credentials from Washington and Lee University and the University of South Carolina complement his legislative efforts.
