Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina's 2nd district since 2001, has shared a series of tweets addressing various international issues. The posts highlight his views on foreign policy and economic sanctions.

On February 4, 2025, Joe Wilson referenced an important thread by GOP Policy Chair Kevin Hern. He emphasized the need for "maximum pressure on the Iranian regime" while advocating for "maximum support for the Iranian people." "Important thread by @GOPPolicy Chair @RepKevinHern Maximum pressure on the Iranian regime. Maximum support for the Iranian people"

In another tweet dated February 5, 2025, Wilson extended his focus to Iraq, stating that maximum pressure on Iran also implies increased pressure on Iraq. He specifically mentioned Rafidain Bank and urged the U.S. Treasury to prevent Iraqi militias and the Iranian regime from smuggling significant sums of money monthly from Iraq’s largest bank. He expressed confidence in former President Trump's ability to address this issue: "Max pressure on Iran means max pressure on Iraq. Start with Rafidain bank @USTreasury and stop letting Iraqi militias and the Iranian regime smuggle $500-$600M a month from Iraq’s biggest bank. Trump will fix it."

Later that day, Wilson commented on a report concerning Tunisia's government and police involvement in trafficking Sub-Saharan Africans across borders. He called for sanctions against Tunisia and advocated cutting aid to promote freedom within the country: "Terrifying report of how Tunisia’s government and police is involved in selling and trafficking Sub-Saharan Africans across the border. Sanction Tunisia and cut the aid. Free Tunisia."
