Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 2nd district since 2001, has expressed his views on various international issues through a series of tweets. His statements touch upon Russia's political climate, the fall of the Assad regime in Syria, and NATO's stance on Ukraine.

On February 18, 2025, Wilson criticized Russia's governance under President Vladimir Putin. He stated that "War Criminal Putin’s Russia has rigged elections and no freedom of speech or assembly. It persecutes all Christians who are not part of the state-controlled church. It has high abortion rates, low church attendance & high alcoholism. In many ways, Russia resembles woke ideology."

Later that day, Wilson commented on the rapid collapse of the Assad regime in Syria after decades of rule. He noted that "The brutal Assad regime fell in only 12 days after over 50 years of cruelty and repression. No matter how long a dictatorship has lasted, they are always brittle. The fall seems impossible until it comes swiftly and totally. Free Iran."

In another tweet posted on February 18, 2025, Wilson expressed gratitude towards Türkiye for its firm stance on Ukraine's sovereignty amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions. He wrote: "Grateful that NATO ally Türkiye has stressed that Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty are non-negotiable. I agree!"
