Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 2nd district, has expressed strong opinions regarding international relations and domestic issues through his recent social media activity. Wilson, who succeeded Floyd Spence in Congress in 2001 and has an extensive background in both the South Carolina Senate and legal education, is vocal about his stance on global political matters.

In a post dated March 25, 2025, Joe Wilson criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin by stating that "War criminal Putin has mastered the woke playbook: perpetual victimhood, grievance politics, and historical revisionism. Critical Russia Theory (CRT) says Russia is always oppressed, never responsible." This tweet reflects Wilson's perspective on Putin's leadership style and its implications for Russia's international standing.

Later the same day, Wilson called for geopolitical change with a brief message posted at 19:19 UTC: "Free Iraq from Iran." The statement suggests Wilson's position on Middle Eastern politics and potential influences over Iraq.

Continuing his critique of Russian governance, at 20:24 UTC on March 25th, he remarked that "Woke Putin has run Russia into the ground with one of the highest abortion rates in the world, lowest church attendance, highest domestic violence, highest divorce rate, and highest alcohol use. This is not a model to emulate!" Through this tweet, Wilson highlights various social issues within Russia as evidence of what he views as ineffective leadership.
