Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina's 2nd district since 2001, has recently shared his views on national security and foreign policy through a series of tweets. His comments focus on actions by the Trump administration, international relations involving Russia and Iran, and legislative initiatives aimed at strengthening American defense capabilities.

On February 10, 2025, Joe Wilson expressed approval for President Trump's decision to revoke Jake Sullivan's security clearance. He attributed Sullivan's perceived failures to enabling Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Wilson stated: "Grateful Pres Trump has revoked Jake Sullivan’s security clearance. Sullivan’s weakness enabled War Criminal Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. He withheld war-winning weapons & failed to seriously sanction Russia, making Americans less safe." He also called for Brett McGurk's clearance to be revoked.

Later that day, Wilson tweeted about the connections between Iran, Russia, and China in supporting militant groups in the Middle East. He urged action against what he termed an "Axis of Aggressors," stating: "Connect the dots. The Iranian regime gives War Criminal Putin suicide drones and missiles. War Criminal Putin supplies Iranian puppets Hezbollah and the Houthis. The Chinese Communist Party bankrolls it all."

In another tweet on February 10th, Wilson announced his intention to introduce new legislation aimed at empowering President Trump with flexible authorities to support allies like Ukraine with military aid. He emphasized this as a strategy to counteract Russian aggression: "Today, I will introduce the FREEDOM FIRST LEND-LEASE ACT to give President Trump flexible authorities to send war-winning weapons to our partners including Ukraine."
