Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 2nd district since 2001, expressed his views on recent geopolitical issues through a series of tweets. Wilson, who succeeded Floyd Spence in Congress and previously served in the South Carolina Senate, is known for his firm stances on foreign policy matters.

On February 8, 2025, Wilson tweeted his agreement with Trump envoy Morgan Ortagus regarding Hezbollah's role in Lebanon. He stated, "Hezbollah should have absolutely no role in the Lebanese government. I applaud President Trump for this strong position."

Later that day, Wilson shared his reaction to the release of Israeli hostages from Hamas captivity. In his tweet, he wrote: "Horrified to see the state of Israeli hostages released from Hamas terrorist captivity. Hamas must be eliminated and have no future in Gaza."

Wilson concluded his series of tweets with a brief statement expressing confidence in former President Donald Trump's capabilities: "Trump will fix it https://t.co/UN0J3D8vcn".
