Joe Wilson, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina's 2nd district since 2001, recently shared his views on several international issues via social media. Wilson, who succeeded Floyd Spence and has been active in politics since his tenure in the South Carolina Senate from 1985 to 2001, expressed concerns about U.S. foreign policy decisions.
On February 6, 2025, Joe Wilson questioned the decision of President Biden to send javelins to Tunisia instead of Ukraine. He remarked: "In his last months in office, Biden sent javelins to the dictatorship in Tunisia. Why does Tunisia’s regime need javelins? He could’ve sent them to Ukraine. Trump will fix it."
Later that day, Wilson addressed issues related to Iranian-backed groups in Iraq. He stated: "Designated Iranian regime puppet terror groups Fatemiyoun and Zainabiyoun are being harbored in Iraqi government bases. This can’t keep happening. Trump will fix it."
In another tweet on the same day, Wilson conveyed his agreement with President Trump's stance on certain matters involving international figures and political conduct: "Grateful that @POTUS shares my glaring concerns about his conduct, President Trump is right, Mandelson should stay home."
