Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina's 2nd district since 2001, recently shared his views on several international and domestic issues through a series of tweets. Wilson, who succeeded Floyd Spence in Congress and previously served in the South Carolina Senate, is known for his active engagement in foreign policy matters.

On February 6, 2025, Wilson expressed his approval of President Trump's directive to the Treasury Department concerning the Iraqi financial system. He stated: "Grateful President Trump has issued a directive requiring the Treasury Department to immediately ensure the Iraqi financial system is no longer utilized by the Iranian regime." He further emphasized his confidence in Trump's actions by adding, "I told you Trump would fix it!"

Later that day, Wilson discussed his appearance on France24 regarding democracy restoration efforts in Tunisia and Syria's situation. In his tweet from February 6, he said: "Grateful to speak to @FRANCE24 about the need to restore democracy in Tunisia as well as the situation in Syria. Aid should be cut & sanctions imposed until democracy is restored in Tunisia."

In another tweet posted on February 6, Wilson shared his experience at the National Prayer Breakfast where he listened to former President Donald Trump. He remarked: "Grateful to have heard the inspiring words of @realDonaldTrump at this morning’s National Prayer Breakfast." The event was attended by congressional colleagues, cabinet members, diplomats, religious and business leaders.
