Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina's 2nd district, recently shared several statements on his social media account. These statements addressed topics ranging from international democracy efforts to women's sports advocacy.

On February 5, 2025, Joe Wilson expressed his intention to introduce the Tunisia Democracy Restoration Act. In his tweet, he stated: "Grateful to speak on the need to restore democracy in Tunisia. I will soon introduce the Tunisia Democracy Restoration Act to support democracy, sanction the regime & suspend aid."

Later that day, Wilson highlighted his involvement in supporting women's sports. He tweeted about meeting Riley Gaines and referenced recent legislative actions: "On National Girls and Women in Sports Day I am grateful to have had the opportunity to meet with @Riley_Gaines_, a champion swimmer and active advocate for women in sports. Last month, I voted to pass the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025, led by @RepGregSteube…"

In another post on February 5, Wilson reflected on a past visit to Tunisia during its democratic period. He expressed optimism for its future: "I was grateful to visit Tunisia in October 2019, while it was a successful democracy, meeting with civil society and elected Members of Parliament. Tunisia will be a democracy again. Tunisia will be great again."
