Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina's 2nd district since 2001, has recently expressed his views on international political matters through a series of tweets. Known for his long-standing political career, Wilson's comments address pressing issues concerning Georgia and Iran.

On February 5, 2025, Joe Wilson tweeted about joining the International Friends of Georgia in calling for the release of Mzia Amaghlobeli and other political prisoners under the Ivanishvili regime. He emphasized the need for sanctions against the regime and advocated for "free and fair elections." "Grateful to add my name to this powerful letter of the International Friends of Georgia calling for the immediate release of Mzia Amaghlobeli and all political prisoners of the Ivanishvili regime as well as sanctions on the regime. The only way forward is free and fair elections!"

Later that day, Wilson commented on Iran's financial activities under President Biden’s administration. He criticized the Iranian regime's alleged $140 billion profit from illicit oil sales used to fund terrorism globally. Wilson contrasted this with former President Trump's approach, stating: "Under Biden, the Iranian regime made over $140 billion in illicit oil profits to fund its terrorism all over the world. This ends under President Trump." He advocated for "maximum pressure" on Iran and support for its people.

In another tweet on February 5th, Wilson criticized actions taken by the Ivanishvili regime following an allegedly rigged election in October. He accused them of suppressing protests and free speech while targeting opposition politicians to align with foreign powers like Russia, Iran, and China: "Since rigging the October election, the Ivanishvili regime has: - Outlawed protest and free speech - Beat up and arbitrarily arrested myriad protestors - Stripped opposition politicians of their seats All to sell out Georgia to War Criminal Putin, the Iranian regime & the CCP"
