Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina's 2nd district since 2001, has been vocal about international issues on his social media platform. On February 3, 2025, he addressed several geopolitical concerns in a series of tweets.

In one post, Wilson referred to comments by Rep. Kevin Hern and the GOP Policy regarding Panama's actions related to its canal. He expressed concern over Panama allegedly undermining the neutrality of the canal by transferring control of ports to China, potentially violating existing treaties. He commended Secretary Rubio for taking steps to prioritize America's interests and persuading Panama to reverse its decision.

Later that day, Wilson criticized South Africa in another tweet, accusing the nation of aligning with Iranian terrorists and mistreating Jewish civilians while aspiring to be recognized as a significant global power. He advocated for severing ties with South Africa and asserted that former President Trump would address this issue effectively.

In a subsequent post, Wilson highlighted concerns regarding Iran's diplomatic presence in Iraq. He identified the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Mohamad Kasadegh, as being associated with the IRGC and functioning as a de facto viceroy. Wilson suggested that similar sanctions should be imposed on him as were applied to his predecessor by President Trump.
