Touch-A-Truck is just around the corner!

The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department will host the 20th annual Touch-A-Truck Event on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.! This free event provides opportunities for children to climb, sit, and explore various vehicles at the Odell Weeks Center Soccer Field, 1700 Whiskey Road, Aiken, South Carolina. For a more sensory-friendly experience, families may visit from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. for limited sounds and lights.

A variety of vehicles will be available for children to enjoy this year. Our vehicle contributors include local businesses and organizations who see the value in providing families with this annual day of hands[1]on exploration. The City of Aiken, Aiken County Sherriff’s Office, K. Ward Aerial Technology, SRM Concrete, SC Express, and many more will be in attendance.

Families can enjoy a ride on the trackless train, inflatables, a game truck, and treats from various food vendors.

This year’s event will also feature the City of Aiken’s first Power Wheels Derby! Registration for the Derby is $5. Participants must be eight years of age or younger and provide their own power wheel. You can register at any City of Aiken Recreation facility after September 1, and space is limited. Come for the trucks; leave with a trophy! The race starts at 9 am.

This year’s event is graciously sponsored by Aiken Standard, K. Ward Aerial Tech, State Farm Agents Scott Saul and Hannah Swanson, Aiken Electric, Shirer Family Dentistry, Smoothie Groove, Crescent Automotive, Meybohm Real Estate Agent Bethanne Farrell, Cedar Creek Church, Aiken Eye, Automotive Work Bench, Edward Jones Financial Advisor Kelby Heydt, Sky High Inflatables, Bounce 2 Gamez and SRM Concrete.
