Joe Wilson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 2nd district since 2001, has expressed his views on international political matters through a series of tweets. Wilson, who succeeded Floyd Spence and previously served in the South Carolina Senate from 1985 to 2001, shared his opinions on events in Georgia and Ukraine.

On February 21, 2025, Joe Wilson highlighted a meeting between the U.S. delegation and the "Legitimate President of Georgia" Salome Zourabichvili. He emphasized the ongoing protests in Georgia by stating that "the brave Georgian People are on the 85th day of consecutive protests." He advocated for free elections as a solution and called for the release of political prisoners: "Free and fair elections are the only way forward! Free political prisoners and hostages of the regime".

In another tweet posted later that day, Wilson voiced support for Ukraine amidst its conflict with Russia. He commended Ukraine's resistance against what he described as an invasion by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Addressing former President Trump's involvement, he noted: "Any comments by President Trump are good faith efforts to end the war as his actions are clear previously sending Javelin missiles to Ukraine".

Additionally, Wilson addressed concerns over electoral processes in Georgia during a session with OSCE PA. He stressed: "Grateful to address @oscepa on the dire need for free & fair elections in Georgia... War Criminal Putin is trying to rebuild the Failed Soviet Empire through invasions & rigged elections". His message included a call to reject an illegitimate Georgian Dream (GD) delegation.
