Resident Input Requested For Smith-Hazel Park

AIKEN, SC –The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism (PRT) Department has coordinated a public input meeting for local community residents to review Smith-Hazel Park design options. The meeting will be held at Smith-Hazel Recreation Center on Thursday, December 8th, at 5:30 PM.

PRT Director Jessica Campbell and staff will present concepts that residents can review and vote on their desired option. Comment cards will be provided to collect feedback.

“Outdoor recreation is an essential part of the health of our community. We would love to hear from a variety of groups and individuals who utilize or plan to utilize Smith-Hazel Park for leisure activities now and in years to come,” stated Campbell.

Funding for the first phase of park revitalization comes from voter approval of Capital Project Sales Tax IV projects along with a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
