University of South Carolina-Aiken issued the following announcement on March 9.
Aiken, SC (03/09/2022) — The University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken) recently hosted its annual career fair, allowing students to meet with employers from all over the region, offering full-time and part-time positions as well as internships. It was the university's first onsite career fair in over two years.
83 organizations participated, and 187 students attended. The sponsoring organizations were MAU Workforce Solutions, Sitel, and Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. Additional employers present included the FBI, Club Car, ADP, Enterprise, and Savannah River Mission Completion.
Corey Feraldi, director of the Office of Career Services at USC Aiken, said the event was a success with a strong employer turnout and a steady stream of students and alumni.
"Participating organizations were very excited about the opportunity to meet face-to-face again and continued to mention that this is one of the best ways to meet and connect with students," he said. "Many employers stressed that they had several available positions to fill and were looking to hire as soon as possible. Though we still have their evaluations to review, the feedback as they left the event was very positive."
Students in attendance were representative of all majors and classifications. Student feedback indicates that students felt the fair was a valuable way to connect with employers. "Student turnout was good considering many other events have seen a decrease in participation due to the pandemic," Feraldi said.
