ABBE Regional Library System issued the following announcement on September 25.
Start submitting your entries for the 19th Annual Teen Ghost Story Contest! The deadline for entries is Friday, Oct. 18 at 6 pm. The contest is open to teens in grades 6-12. Entries may be any number of words up to 2,000; typed and double-spaced. You can bring entries to the library or email (PDF or .doc/x formats only, please) to nancycarsonlibrary@gmail.com.
Entries must include name, age, grade, school, and phone number or email address. Failure to follow these guidelines is an automatic disqualification. Open to residents of the CSRA.
Winners will be announced Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. on Facebook and YouTube with Ms. Renee reading the winning entries. Winners may pick up their prizes beginning Friday, October 29. Winners will receive gift certificates from Amazon.com: $50 for 1st place, $25 for 2nd place, and $15 for 3rd place.
Writing skills packets will be available to download here (PDF) and at the front desk upon request.
To whet your appetites for the Scare the Dickens Ghost Story Finale on Thursday, October 28, we invite Teens to join us on Facebook and YouTube for Spooky, Scary Skeletales! Ms. Renee or Mr. Adam will share a spooky short story. Titles will be announced on Facebook and Instagram on October 4.
