Joe Wilson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 2nd district, has made several public statements via Twitter concerning international relations and geopolitical issues. On March 13, 2025, Joe Wilson expressed concern over Iraq's continued importation of gas from Iran. He warned Iraqi officials in a tweet that "the end of the electricity waiver is only the beginning. Sanctions are coming."
In another tweet on the same day, Wilson addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin's actions regarding Ukraine. He criticized Putin's portrayal as a victim while condemning his military strategies by stating "he invaded a sovereign country of 40 million, his forces delighting in utter sadism." Furthermore, he mentioned former President Trump's involvement in offering assistance to Putin.
Later that day, Wilson shared positive news about peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He tweeted his gratitude for the progress towards a peace deal which he believes will bring stability and prosperity to the region: "Make South Caucasus Great Again!"
