Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina's 2nd district since 2001, recently expressed his views on international political issues through a series of tweets. Wilson, who has been an active member of Congress following his tenure in the South Carolina Senate, voiced concerns about political regimes and militant groups.

On January 28, 2025, Joe Wilson called for the release of Bobi Wine from what he described as the "Museveni regime." "Free Bobi Wine from the Museveni regime", he tweeted.

Later that day, Wilson made another statement concerning Iran. At 13:40 UTC, he tweeted "Free Iran from the regime".

Shortly after, at 14:07 UTC on the same day, Wilson addressed an attack involving the Iran-backed Badr militia. He accused them of attacking a U.S. embassy and collaborating with other groups like IRGC and Hezbollah while denying terrorist affiliations. His tweet read: "The Iran-backed Badr militia attacked our embassy & works with the IRGC and Hezbollah. Yet now they’re claiming not to be terrorists. You lie!!"
