Join the Friends of Hopelands and Rye Patch partnered with the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department on Sunday, October 16, from 2-5 pm for Nature Rocks in Hopelands Gardens. This is sure to be a fun and educational day of nature crafts, scavenger hunts, and demonstrations by organizations such as the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center, the Silver Bluff Audubon Center, Three Tree Bees Apiaries, and many other participants. In addition, participants can listen to SC Bluebird Society representatives, enjoy Story Time with Mother Goose, and interact with animals from the Savannah River Ecology Lab!
The Friends of Hopelands and Rye Patch will unveil the cover of their new book and announce its dedication; the book is scheduled to be released before Christmas 2022. The book includes details about the history of Hopelands Gardens, Rye Patch, and the Friends of Hopelands and Rye Patch. In addition, it has many pictures of the properties showcasing their history and beauty. They will also introduce their new science and nature educational program, Nature Rocks in the Gardens.
Parking for this event is available at Green Boundary Club, 780 Whiskey Road.
