Aiken County’s Drought Level Upgraded

On June 30, 2022, the South Carolina Drought Response Committee upgraded Aiken County’s drought level to incipient, the first level of drought as designated by the S.C. Drought Response Act. The committee will reconvene on

July 14, 2022 to re-evaluate Aiken County’s drought level.

At this time, the City of Aiken is responding according to its drought response plan. No action is required by City residents in an incipient drought status, however, if drought levels worsen, the public may be requested to make voluntary reductions in water usage.
