Aiken County School District issued the following announcement on February 15.
Thomasina Garrett has been a bus driver for more than 20 years in Attendance Area 4. A graduate of Wagener-Salley High School, Ms. Garrett said she is proud to serve the students of her community.
Prior to driving a bus, Ms. Garrett worked at Head Start and has enjoyed watching children grow over the years. She said it’s exciting to know where they’ve started and then watch them go on to college.
“I love what I do because every day is a new adventure! I get to help start their day out on a positive note and show them love,” she said.
In addition to driving a school bus Ms. Garrett also serves as a Special Education aide. She knows the importance of her job goes beyond delivering students to and from school safely each day and she strives to be a positive influence on students while showing them love, compassion, and respect.
