University of South Carolina-Aiken: ROTC Program Returns to USCA

Fallaw 26

University of South Carolina-Aiken issued the following announcement on October 21.

Aiken, SC (10/21/2021) — Cadet Jason Fallaw is the first cadet to contract as part of the re-ignited Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Pacer Detachment at the University of South Carolina (USCA). He signed his contract on Thursday, October 13, in a ceremony held on the university's campus.

"For me, this is a big step in my career to commission in the Army and get that much further to my goal of helping those in the military from a mental health standpoint," Fallaw said. "I am super excited to be a part of the return of the Army ROTC program to USCA. I can't wait to see where things go and what type of legacy is built."

A veteran of the United States Marine Corp, Fallaw was raised in Monetta, South Carolina, and is projected to commission into the Army in the spring of 2023. He is an applied clinical psychology graduate student and began his degree program this fall. Through the ROTC, he receives scholarship benefits to include full tuition and fees, with an additional monthly stipend.

Jeffrey D. Keenan, lieutenant colonel, Army, and commander, ROTC Pacer Detachment, expressed his enthusiasm. "My team and I are very proud to return the Army ROTC program to USCA! We couldn't have asked for a better backdrop to have old glory flying proudly."

For more information about the USCA Pacer Detachment, please contact Mr. Ryan Dimm, Recruiting Operations Officer at Ryan.Dimm@usca.edu.
