Aiken Regional Medical Centers: World Heart Day

Aiken Regional Medical Centers issued the following announcement on September 30.

On World Heart Day, Interventional Cardiologist Christine DeStephan Mills, MD, brings attention to cardiovascular disease (CVD), “which despite the pandemic, remains the world’s number one killer, resulting in 18.6 million deaths a year,” she says. “Smoking is the leading preventable risk factor and female smokers are at a 25% higher risk than male smokers for CVD. Quit smoking today for a longer, healthier life!”
