Aiken, SC (08/26/2021) — A couple of days into the fall semester, University of South Carolina Aiken (UofSC Aiken) blood donors helped Shepeard Community Blood Center provide blood and blood products to 20 local hospitals in the CSRA and the regional burn center.
Students, faculty, and staff donated blood, which will be used to save lives.
"UofSC Aiken has a long history of supporting Sheapard in their efforts to provide blood products to our local hospitals, and we're pleased to continue that tradition. Citizenship is one of UofSC Aiken's core values, and donating blood is a vital service we can provide to our community. We truly appreciate everyone who showed up to give the gift of life to others," said Andrew Hendrix, event organizer, and director of admissions at UofSC Aiken.
UofSC Aiken and Sheapard Community Blood Center will be holding another blood drive on the university campus on Friday, October 22. As a thank you, each donor at this event will receive a Halloween-themed shirt.
