University of South Carolina-Aiken issued the following announcement on August 6.
Aiken, SC (08/06/2021) — University of South Carolina Aiken (UofSC Aiken) alumnus Antonio Evans has published his second book, "The Fitness of Not Quitting: 7 Strategies to Never Quit Fitness Again."
Evans is a 2001 graduate of UofSC Aiken's exercise and sports science degree program and was the university's December 2018 convocation keynote speaker. He is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, and fitness coach who has worked with corporations, universities, grade schools, churches, and other organizations to promote fitness and wellness. Evans has founded multiple brands, including ReShape Fitness & Consulting, Plank Life, and Inspiration by Antonio. Previously, he was the fitness coach for former NFL Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer and Michael Waltrip Racing.
According to the book description, "The Fitness of Not Quitting is about your mental strength just as much as your physical. The body is willing, but it's the mind that gets weak. So the reality is that both can and should be strong. May your 'I'm not quitting' mindset kick in sooner than later, and perhaps you can stay afloat until you learn how to swim but not quit."
Dr. Chris DeWitt, professor, and chair of the department of exercise and sports science at UofSC Aiken, said, "I have known Antonio Evans for more than 20 years, initially as an undergraduate student taking my university courses and subsequently as a friend. Antonio is a sincere, honest, humble, and impressive individual. It is a great honor to me that he and I have had a confluence of our lives. Antonio has a knowledge base that has enabled him to achieve remarkable professional accomplishments and undergo a continuing, stellar career in the fitness industry. Authoring this book is a superb accomplishment for Antonio and an important addition to the literature. In "The Fitness of Not Quitting," I like how Antonio describes the physiological importance of fitness on both the body and the mind.
"The Fitness of Not Quitting" follows Evans' first book, "100 Things to Ponder," a compilation of personal thoughts and experiences that offers insight on different aspects of life such as faith, family, fitness, personal development, success, and more.
Both of Evans' books are available for purchase online.
