Joe Wilson, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 2nd district since 2001, recently posted a series of updates on his official Twitter account regarding his ongoing legislative activities and commitments.

On January 16, 2026, Wilson highlighted the importance of regional healthcare facilities for military personnel and their families. He stated, “Eisenhower Army Medical Center is a world class facility which serves an entire region. I am committed to ensuring that those who serve our Nation and their families have access to quality healthcare which takes into account the unique needs of those who keep us safe and free. I”.

Later that day, Wilson shared information about his participation in the 2026 Legislative Agenda Tour at Barnwell County Courthouse. In his tweet dated January 16, he wrote, “We completed the 2026 Legislative Agenda Tour, with a stop in front of the historic Barnwell County Courthouse, where I was joined by Mayor Ron Still, members of the county council, and others. Among the polices I shared were advancing @POTUS goals for American energy”.

Two days later on January 18, Wilson expressed gratitude for his constituents and reaffirmed his commitment to serving them: “Grateful to represent the people of South Carolina’s Second District and look forward to working on their behalf in 2026.”

Wilson has represented South Carolina’s Second District in Congress since replacing Floyd Spence in 2001. Prior to his congressional service, he served in the South Carolina Senate from 1985 until entering Congress. Born in Charleston in 1947 and currently residing in Springdale at age 75, Wilson holds degrees from Washington and Lee University (BA) and the University of South Carolina (JD).
