Joe Wilson, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 2nd district since 2001, recently shared a series of posts on his social media account addressing youth opportunities, religious celebrations, and space exploration.
On March 30, 2026, Wilson expressed support for an initiative by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management: “Grateful for this initiative by @USOPM, fostering opportunities for young people to grow and advance in their chosen careers while serving our great Nation.”
Two days later, on April 1, 2026, he extended greetings to those observing Passover: “Happy Passover to those celebrating in South Carolina and around the world. Chag Sameach.”
Later that same day, Wilson acknowledged a recent NASA mission: “Grateful for this historic and patriotic mission. Godspeed to these incredible astronauts and congratulations to everyone at @NASA whose expertise made this mission possible. “
Wilson has represented South Carolina’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Floyd Spence in 2001. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the South Carolina Senate from 1985 to 2001. Born in Charleston in 1947 and currently residing in Springdale at age 75, Wilson is an alumnus of Washington and Lee University (BA) and holds a JD from the University of South Carolina.
