Joe Wilson, U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 2nd district and chairman of the Congressional UK Caucus, shared updates on diplomatic and international matters through a series of posts on his official Twitter account between April 29 and April 30, 2026.

On April 29, Wilson highlighted his participation in a significant event during the British royal visit to Washington. He wrote, “Grateful to serve on the Congressional Escort Committee as Chairman of the Congressional UK Caucus for His Majesty King Charles III’s address to Congress as part of the @RoyalFamily state visit. The U.S.-UK Special Relationship remains cherished by American families. https://t.co/XDjI7RJFAF”.

Later that day, Wilson addressed concerns about Russia’s foreign policy and its impact on U.S. allies in another post: “As co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus, I am grateful to bring attention to war criminal Putin’s support for the Iranian regime’s Death to America, Death to Israel agenda. Blood-soaked grain, stolen from temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine, must be rejected. https://t.co/pGG3GJJerH”.

On April 30, Wilson commented on developments regarding press freedom in Eastern Europe: “Grateful for the release of Polish-Belarusian journalist and activist Andrzej Poczobut after 1,860 days in Belarusian prison. Our partnership with model NATO ally Poland is unbreakable and delivers real results for freedom. https://t.co/xvBTP8jDrO”.

Wilson has served in Congress since 2001 after succeeding Floyd Spence and previously represented constituents in the South Carolina Senate from 1985 to 2001. Born in Charleston in 1947 and currently residing in Springdale, Wilson holds degrees from Washington and Lee University (BA) and the University of South Carolina (JD).
