Joe Wilson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 2nd district, posted a series of tweets on August 26, 2025, highlighting meetings with U.S. and international officials focused on Middle Eastern policy.

In his first tweet at 13:52 UTC, Wilson stated, “Grateful to join you @SenatorShaheen and work with you to support @USAmbTurkiye efforts and push a FULL repeal of the Caesar Act.”

Later that day at 16:53 UTC, he reported further diplomatic engagement: “Grateful to join @SenatorShaheen, @USAmbTurkiye Tom Barrack, @LindseyGrahamSC and @MorganOrtagus in meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam expressing our gratitude for the Lebanese government’s decision to disarm Hezbollah which must be followed through on. President”

Joe Wilson has represented South Carolina’s 2nd District in Congress since 2001 after serving in the South Carolina Senate from 1985 to 2001. He was born in Charleston in 1947 and resides in Springdale. Wilson holds a BA from Washington and Lee University (1969) and a JD from the University of South Carolina (1972).
