Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 2nd district since 2001, posted a series of updates on September 3, 2025, detailing recent legislative initiatives and remarks concerning U.S. foreign and domestic policy.

In his first post at 16:14 UTC, Wilson wrote, “I am grateful to submit an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act to require the U.S. military to bring up the wrongful imprisonment case of Imran Khan and all political prisoners in ALL of their mil-to-mil interactions with Pakistan. Free Imran Khan! “.

Later that day at 17:18 UTC, he continued with another statement regarding U.S. partnerships in the Middle East: “Grateful to sponsor this amendment of the NDAA to support the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq as a vital strategic partner of the United States.”

Addressing border security issues on the same date at 21:04 UTC, Wilson stated: “I spoke on the House floor about how illegal crossings at the border are down 92 percent compared to a year ago under Biden. I am grateful that @POTUS and Republicans are sending a clear message to traffickers, cartels, and criminals that they will be held to the full extent of”.

Joe Wilson has been an active member of Congress since replacing Floyd Spence in 2001. Before his tenure in Washington D.C., he served in the South Carolina Senate from 1985 until his election to Congress. Born in Charleston in 1947 and now residing in Springdale, Wilson holds degrees from Washington and Lee University (BA) and the University of South Carolina (JD).
