Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 2nd district since 2001, has recently shared several statements on his social media account, addressing issues ranging from military service to international affairs.
On October 13, 2025, Wilson posted in honor of the U.S. Navy’s anniversary: “In recognition of the U.S. Navy’s 250th anniversary, I’m grateful for all those who have and are currently serving, including my son Addison, pictured here with family at his U.S. Naval Academy graduation.”
Two days later, on October 15, 2025, Wilson commented on the situation in Syria: “All efforts must be made to remove murderous War Criminal Putin bases from Syria!”
On October 16, 2025, Wilson addressed concerns about international relations and critical minerals: “The CCP has a great partner in the Georgian Nightmare regime as they seal off American access to critical minerals in the Middle Corridor to please their loan sharks in Beijing. All this while mocking and making demands of President Trump. Action NOW is critical”
Wilson, who was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1947 and currently resides in Springdale, has a long history of public service. Before his tenure in Congress began with his succession of Floyd Spence in 2001, he served in the South Carolina Senate from 1985 to 2001. He holds degrees from Washington and Lee University and the University of South Carolina.
