Joe Wilson, a U.S. Congressman representing South Carolina’s 2nd district since 2001, recently shared several statements on his social media account addressing national security, international affairs, and personal messages of support.

On March 15, 2026, Wilson commented on the role of plutonium processing in the United States’ security strategy: “Plutonium processing is a vital component in President Trump’s national security goals. I’m grateful for Secretary Wright’s leadership in revitalizing the one of a kind asset at the Savannah River Site to help keep American families safe.”

In a message posted on March 16, 2026, Wilson extended well wishes to an individual named Susie: “Roxanne and I are sending our prayers to Susie and her family and wish her a speedy recovery.”

Addressing foreign policy concerns on March 18, 2026, Wilson wrote: “Sadly, the criminal Georgian Dream regime has made Georgia an untrustworthy and high-risk partner. GD has transformed the country into a vector for Chinese influence. More such measures will become necessary unless GD changes course.”

Wilson has served as South Carolina’s representative in Congress since replacing Floyd Spence in 2001. Before his congressional tenure, he was a member of the South Carolina Senate from 1985 to 2001. Born in Charleston in 1947 and currently residing in Springdale, Wilson graduated from Washington and Lee University with a BA in 1969 and earned his JD from the University of South Carolina in 1972.
